What game on the schedule are you looking forward to the most, Why?
There are a lot of big games on the schedule this year. The game/series I am most looking forward to is the LSU series, because it is a rivalry game, and it will be a fun experience playing in Baton Rouge.
How do you balance education and athletics?
It's tough at first to find the balance but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy. When you are not at the field you are either studying or in class so most of your day is consumed by education and athletics. How often do you study? I study a couple hours per night when I get back to the dorm and a little more the night before a test.
What are two things that you would do different if you were in high school again?
Get on a long toss program to strengthen my arm. and. also, get on a running program, We did a lot of running during fall practice.
What person and or event has had the most influence on your life?
My family. Why? Because they have been with me every step of the way and have helped me stay on the right path.
What is the biggest difference in between HS and College baseball?
There are a lot of differences between high school and college. In high school education comes first and then athletics. In college you are competing and working out more than you spend in the classroom. You have to learn how to properly balance school, sports and your social life. Also, practices are a lot harder and the coaches challenge you a lot more than they do in high school.
What are your baseball goals? Where do you hope to be in 5 years?
In 5 years - and my baseball goals - be a pro baseball player. I want to play in the majors.
Who are your role models in baseball and why?
Jackie Robinson is one of my role models because he had the courage to break the color barrier for baseball.
What has been your best memory in college thus far?
My favorite memory so far has to be just hanging and being around the baseball team, they are pretty much your family away from home.
What advice would you give a Kansas RBI player who is striving to be just like you?
The advice I would give them is to keep working hard to achieve their dream. It doesn't only happen on the baseball field but also in the classroom. Plus, you have to stay out of trouble. Don't take a day off and give it 100% every time, because if you don't someone will pass you up.
